Meredith Salenger
Salenger was born and grew up within Malibu, California. When she was a kid, she loved being a performer in front of close family and friends. She was taken by her mother to her first acting class when she was just eight years old. She was in a minor part in the film as "a dancing and singing orphan" in John Huston's feature film Annie. Salenger was also featured in some commercials on television. Salenger was the first actress to play the lead part in The Journey of Natty Gann which was an iconic Disney film that featured John Cusack with Ray Wise. It was the very first US film to earn the Gold Award from the Moscow Film Festival. She was also named "Best actress in Drama" at the Youth in Film Awards, in recognition of her role as the fun-loving Natty. At the age of 18, she also acted in four films, one of which was A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. Following that, she moved to Harvard in order to pursue her education.
